At first I was macho and arrogant about the breakup. I told her I was fine without her, and we went our separate ways for a while. We had a kid at the time, so it made things very rough on me as she took our son with her. But I was a jerk, and she just kept her distance.

Eventually things started getting civil and we moved back in with each other. But do not be fooled, we were not together. I had made some strides, but I really did not know how to get my ex back in my life for good.
